Wayne has acted as an after dinner speaker, seminar instructor, and done many sportsman show fishing tank demonstrations on numerous occasions. His subject matter varies from big game hunting to light tackle fishing, but his expertise is the whitetail deer and light tackle artificial lure fishing. His subject matter and content is very different, he challenges conventional wisdom on a host of outdoor subjects and provides the facts and details in an interesting, informative manner. His life as an outdoor adventure have led him to some of the remotest, wildest places on earth. While in his twenties he spent a month crisscrossing the borders of Uganda, Kenya and Ethiopia hunting everything from Elephant to Kudu and avoiding being killed by insurgents in an Africa that was disintegrating into tribal and political warfare. For twenty years, he regularly traveled to northern Canada with a boat, whitewater raft or kayak to run a number of whitewater rivers that had never been run before in search of Pike and Trout. His creation of the Banjo Minnow fishing lure led him to many places to demonstrate it's ability to catch all species of fish, from Maine to Texas, from Florida to California, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Brazil, The Bahamas, Quebec, Saskatewean, plus many places in-between, but it was tournament fishing that honed his skills, and made him think of why fish bite one day and not the next, of why one type of lure and not another, of whether there were better ways or methods to catch a fish.
A lifetime of hunting whitetail bucks in the snowy north led him to form very different ideas and opinions than what his father had taught him and he is presently writing a book on what he and his guides learned in those years. His ideas are fascinating and logical, and easily understood by the average hunter.
Wayne is not dismissive of others views, he is the first to tell you that without the lessons he was taught as a boy, he would never have come to the beliefs he has today. "As a guide, I have seen it all, from the expert to the down right incompetent, but I have learned one thing, even the worst fisherman or hunter has something to say. There is at least one thing he or she has found, or understood that works for them and that little piece of knowledge is worth listening to because it can teach you something. We are all just students in the great outdoors, it is a never ending, learning game."
Wayne does local appearances that vary from no charge to flying to other locations for an agreed upon fee. It depends on the venue and location.
